Recent Developments and Upgrades to the Geant4 Geometry Modeller
نویسنده
چکیده
The Geometry modeller is a key component of the Geant4 toolkit [1,2]. It has been designed to exploit at the best the features provided by the Geant4 simulation toolkit, allowing the description of the geometrical structure of complex detectors in a natural way, ranging from a few up to hundreds of thousands volumes of the LHC experiments, as well as human phantoms for medical applications or devices and spacecrafts for simulations in the space environment. The established advanced techniques for optimizing tracking in the geometrical model have been recently enhanced and are currently under evolution to address additional use-cases. New geometrical shapes increased the rich set of primitives available, and new tools help users in the process of debugging the geometrical setup. The major concepts of the Geant4 geometry modeller are reviewed, focussing on recent features introduced in the last releases of the Geant4 toolkit.

Remarks on Modern Track Geometry Maintenance
A short survey on modern track maintenance methods is given, concentrating on the developments in recent years. The ongoing refinement of the machinery should be shown as the influence of IT-solutions. On top the economic view to the track infrastructure is briefly demonstrated. Further developments in track hardware solutions must respect the obtained high level of track work mechanization. H...
متن کاملGeant 4 and Fano cavity test : where are we ?
The electron transport algorithm implemented in Geant4 has been recently revised. The modifications concern several physics aspects of the simulation model: the step limitation, the energy loss along a step and the multiple scattering. The Fano cavity setup was used to test these developments. The upgrades increase significantly the accuracy of the electron transport simulation. The ratio of si...
متن کاملGEANT4 Target Simulations for Low Energy Medical Applications
The GEANT4 code offers an extensive set of hadronic models for various projectiles and energy ranges. These models include theoretical, parameterized and, for low energy neutrons, data driven models. Theoretical or semiempirical models sometimes cannot reproduce experimental data at low energies (<100MeV), especially for low Z elements, and therefore recent GEANT4 developments included a new pa...
متن کاملRecent improvements on the description of hadronic interactions in Geant4
We present an overview of recent improvements of hadronic models in Geant4 for the physics configurations (Physics Lists) relevant to applications in high energy experiments. During last year the improvements have concentrated on the study of unphysical discontinuities in calorimeter observables in the transition regions between the models used in Physics Lists. The microscopic origin of these ...
